We do not sell anything that we are not proud of. If we would not want to receive something, we do not ship that something. It really is as simple as that. Every item that we list for sale on any Internet Marketplace is either new, like new, mint (zero defects), or difficult to distinguish from new.
All pre-owned items are thoroughly tested and carefully reconditioned to a point to where they are difficult to distinguish from new.
For all pre owned merchandise, our goal is to deliver merchandise that is as close to "new" as we know how to make it.
Customer satisfaction is our number one goal. To insure your satisfaction, we follow up our quality merchandise with amazing customer support.

Every pre-owned item we sell on
AMAZON and EBAY is thoroughly
inspected, cleaned and tested prior
to listing.
We actually examine all pre-owned
items with a magnifying glass to search
for cosmetic defects.
If there are any, we either don’t list it,
or describe each and every defect and
include high resolution photos of the
defects in our listing.
Electronics are inspected and tested by a
CompTIA A+ Certified Professional.
Our goal is to make each and every pre-
owned item that we sell indistinguishable
from new. We do this by using industrial
closed-loop processes.

Technology is great, when it works. Fortunately, when it doesn’t, repairs are easy for a trained technician. The steps are: 1) Cleaning, 2) testing, 3) diagnostics, 4) repairs and 5) afterwards more testing to verify the proper functioning of the item that was repaired.
In the case of computers (both desktops, laptops and tablet PCs), problems are either hardware related or software related. Proper diagnostic tools help us to diagnose the problem so that we can fix it.
At CRATE TO CRIB™, we use some of the same tools required to properly detail your car. We also use tools and products designed specifically for cleaning and lubricating electronics (and other merchandise). To remove stickers, labels and adhesive residues, we use Pro-Power Goo Gone® adhesive remover. To lubricate moving parts, such as fans and potentiometers, we use Super Tech™ lubricant. For cleaning electronics we use a Metro Datavac Pro™ vacuum/blower and industrial strength Ultra Duster™ multi-purpose air dusters. For cleaning computer monitor screens, we use all natural Screen Mom™ screen cleaner and premium microfiber cloths. For cleaning camera gear, we use a Giottos™ brand (Rocket Blaster) blower, along with their brushes, cotton swabs, sensor cleaning swabs and cleaning solutions.

There is very little that is more disappointing than receiving an order that has been damaged during shipping. For almost 12 years we have been perfecting our shipping methods. The result is happy customers that reap the benefits of our packaging knowledge, skills and expertise.
All media (books, CDs, Blu Ray disks, video games) are wrapped with commercial grade transparent polyethylene film (cling wrap) to protect them from moisture during shipping.
We use bubble wrap, foam, air-cellular cushioning (air bags), poly bags, and wrapping and packing papers to protect your precious package from rough handling and/or dropping.
In all cases, the quality, versatility, and value of the various types of kraft paper, when combined with other materials, can provide extra protection and cushioning for your valuable package.
We use TAPEKING™ extra thick, heavy duty grade packing tape.
We use clear adhesive shipping pouches for shipping labels and packing slips. And we use adhesive warning and fragile stickers to provide handling instruction for your valuable package.
Our packaging meets International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) drop test requirements.
Corrugated boxes have “burst” and “crush” ratings. Both of these ratings are based on pounds of pressure per square inch. If we are shipping a box that weighs less than about 60 pounds and is not larger than a combined length, width, and depth of 85 inches, we use cartons that have a burst rating of 200 pounds per square inch and a crush rating of at least 48 pounds per square inch. This, combined with the use of proper cushioning and filling materials means that your order should survive a 4-foot drop.
Our strategy for pricing our products
is real simple. Amazon consistently has
good prices on quality merchandise.
We price our quality products at, or
slightly below Amazon’s prices for the
same product. We don’t offer a best
price guarantee because our business
model is not about selling merchandise
at the lowest price. It is all about providing
our customers with a great value, and a
great online shopping experience!

So, you just found the lowest price on that special something that you just can’t live without. You get excited, place the order, and pat yourself on the back. After bragging to your family, friends and neighbors, you sit back and wait for your order to arrive.
Unfortunately, your order may never arrive, or maybe you receive an empty box: Because you have been scammed. Or, maybe your order is damaged because it wasn’t packaged properly. You may find out that there are parts missing, or it doesn’t work, or it has cosmetic defects (such as dirt, scratches, dings, dents, etc.). Or, maybe your “brand new, factory sealed” order doesn’t have a warranty because it is a “grey market” item.
Then, to your horror, you find out that the seller doesn’t accept returns, or maybe the seller accepts the return and claims they never received it.
“By far, the majority of online transactions end up with a great customer experience. But, when doing business online, it can be “caveat emptor” (latin for “let the buyer beware”). Buyer protection plans and generous return policies can be welcome remedies when there are problems, but can be time consuming and end up adding to the final cost.”
One of Warren Buffett's most famous quotes (via Benjamin Graham) is,
"Price is what you pay; value is what you get."
It's an idea that largely guides his investment decisions and one that he has used to achieve an unparalleled level of success. What exactly does this quote mean, though, and how can you use it to guide our own buying decisions?
The most important distinction between price and value is the fact that price is arbitrary and value is fundamental. For example, consider a person selling gold bars for $5 a piece. The price of those gold bars is, in this instance, $5. It's an arbitrary amount chosen by the seller for reasons known only to them. Yet, in spite of the fact that those gold bars are priced at $5, their value is so much more.
Buying something at a great price that has little or no value to you, or something that you may never use, is an example of buying something without first determining its value. This happens all the time. It is what advertisers count on. Advertisers count on factors that are driven by human characteristics and emotions, such as fear and greed.
We search the worldwide web for products that we feel will be of value to our customers. We then order a sample to test it. We do this to ensure that the product works as described.
For example we recently tested a 1.0 terabyte, USB 3.0 thumb drive using Xbench software. We found that the transfer rates were slow, but the capacity was as described. We determined it to represent a good value because it allows our customers to back up their entire hard drive onto a device that can be used as a keychain, at an excellent price. And, the backup time is faster than backing up your hard drive to the cloud using a service such as BackBlaze.
Along with product research, we do market research. This involves online research, such as looking at product ratings and reviews, and visiting the manufacturer’s website.
We also market test products by purchasing a few of the products, selling them, and obtaining customer feedback.
If the product is perceived as a great value by the marketplace, we then place a larger order.
Product research determines the quality, market research determines the value.

The quality of the product.
The usefulness of the product.
The performance of the product.
The quality of the company that sells the product.
The quality of the customer support offered on the product.
The speed of shipping.
The quality of the packaging.
A price based on fair market value.
Your satisfaction with your order.
We encourage everyone shopping online to not make decisions based only on the lowest price, but on the overall value.
Some of our eBay listings include the opportunity to make an offer. If for any reason you are not happy with our price, go ahead and make an offer! You will receive a fast and courteous response.
We also invite you to please consider that 100% of our profits go to our charity, PCs for Vets™, a California nonprofit that helps veterans. So, if you do end up spending slightly more by doing business with us, you can be assured that the price difference will be going to a good cause.
Receiving a notice that
your order has been
shipped, does not
necessarily mean that
it has been shipped.
It simply means that
a shipping label has
been generated. Your
order will go nowhere
until the seller delivers
your order to the carrier.
Accurate tracking begins
when the label has been
scanned by the carrier.

For most of the items we sell, the shipping is free. The exceptions are when it makes no economical sense. Example: We cannot offer free shipping on an item that costs $2.66 for shipping, and is priced at $3.00. By the time you add the transaction fees (merchant and listing fees), we would be losing money. However, in the case where the buyer pays for shipping, we receive discounts from Amazon and eBay shipping, and pass the savings on to you!

Orders fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) include free shipping for qualified orders, and free 2-Day shipping for Amazon Prime subscribers. Average shipping times: 2-5 business days.

Orders fulfilled by Alibaba Express are shipped for free using ePacket delivery. Average shipping times: 7-10 business days.
Using ePacket Delivery, Crate to Crib™ can ship packages to 39 countries and to all states, territories and military addresses within the United States.
